Spent the day at the Hawk conservancy in Hampshire. A great day. We were looked after for the day by two experienced Falconers who introduced us to the wonderful world of raptors.
It’s an uplifting experience to have a graceful and powerful hawk fly onto your gloved hand to retrieve a morsel of meat. Have a look at the photo album. The lunch time flying display is fascinating – with as many as 10 birds in the air at any one time. The highlight is the arrival of the American Bald Eagles which have been released earlier some 1.5 miles across the valley.
The Centre works hard for the conservation of endangered species – it’s well worth supporting with a visit or even membership.
